Duties include overall responsibility for obtaining the initial brief from the Client/Architect, preparing the basic design study and supervising the final working drawings, preparation of the Tender Documents, and Conditions of Contract, and recommending the acceptance of the Contractor's Tender after detailed tender analysis.
Particular installations embrace the design of all aspects of electrical services including HV and LV distribution, lighting and power layouts, staff location and nurse call systems, lifts, boiler-house and ventilation control systems, lightning protection etc., and preparing detailed bills of quantities and cost control of projects, in instances where the appointment includes quantity surveying duties.
