Over the last 30 years Bob James has carried out major works at most power stations and Petro-chemical stations in the UK and has completed the majority of the largest project work at Aberthaw Power Station.This work includes the first secondary superheater outlet header changes, primary headers and Ferrybridge boiler suspension modifications along with numerous other upgrades of plant such as the fuel oil boiler modifications and revamp in 1985, involving pipework and structural design.

Post welding stress relief heat treatment is an essential process to ensure the removal of stress corrosion cracking (SCC), caused by internal or residual stresses near welds.
Excel Power Construction have proven systems and technical expertise to ensure metals are able to be heated to high temperatures, as in the case of pipework, so that they can be welded after which controlled cooling using thermal couples is required.
