Our first load manipulator, the Benco Engine stand, is still giving sterling service after nearly 50 years of trouble-free operation. From that initial concept, the company has refined and developed both mobile and static products with manual or powered operation, for the efficient, effective and safe handling of unit loads of up to 20,000kg. Manual and motorised/manual gearboxes designed for use with Benco equipment can be adapted or customised to suit client needs.

Benco 25 engine stand, designed for the safe and effective powered manipulation of large engines or other heavy workpieces up to 25 tonnes in weight. Benco engine stands are suitable for newbuild, repair and refurbishment operations, with load capacities available up to 20,000kg. Specifically designed for busy welding shops, the extensive Benco range of welding positioners and manipulators can make jobs considerably easier.

We have developed our own manual and motorised/manual gearbox units, which combine rugged reliability and performance.
Services
We are a family owned company who, since 1962, have provided confidential engineering services to a variety of industries including the demanding Aerospace and Automotive markets.
The founder of the company designed and built the original Benco engine stand which has now evolved into an extensive range after listening to the varied needs of managers and engineers.
This long term experience has enabled us to produce rugged, cost effective stands that make engine manufacturing and repair faster, easier and much safer.
Benco engine stands are suitable for newbuild, repair and refurbishment operations, and with load capacities available up to 25,000kg, they are particularly suited for work on engines and gearboxes from a wide range of public transport equipment, covering rail, road and air, as well as gen sets, static engines and drive units from heavy construction plant.
Benco stands can save up to 50% man hours by eliminating non-productive handling procedures, while complying with all current working practice and safety regulations to minimise the dangers of personal injuries resulting from the manual handling of heavy unit loads.
Specifically designed for busy welding shops, the extensive Benco range of welding positioners and manipulators can make jobs considerably easier.
From small contract welding shops up to fabrication units within large OEMs, the Benco equipment is proven to increase efficiency, productivity and ultimately, profit.
We have successfully supplied welding positioners, engine stands and special gearbox units to companies all over the world.
However, despite having an extensive range of standard products, our philosophy has always been to provide a specialist solution to individual requirements.
Over the years we have developed our own manual and motorised/manual gearbox units, which combine rugged reliability and performance to the stage where they carry the same extensive guarantee as our major handling products.
However, using our CAD facilities, we can also customise these gearbox designs to meet particular customer needs.
Equipment shown is used for removal and replacement of mould lids (0.5-1 tonne weight) in resin transfer moulding (RTM) operations for the production of aircraft seat components.
Individual cells are equipped with overhead rail-mounted scissor lifts fitted with rotating lift platforms, hydraulically operated via pendant controllers.
The rail mechanisms allow horizontal movements up to 4.5m x 7.5m of the supported loads either fore and aft or side to side.
The scissor lift movement provides a total lift of 1.25m (at heights of 1 to 2.5m above floor level) with a 360° rotation of the lift platform, and with all operations being carried-out with maximum safety and minimum operator effort.
