Ergonomics or Human Factors (as commonly in the US) is the science of adapting design and engineering to human abilities and limitations. A formal definition is given by the International Ergonomics Association: "Ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance".

You may use our links page to find out more and increase your understanding of Ergonomics, Human Factors Integration, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) principles and how they can be of benefit to your business. Human Factors Integration is a common term for the process of integrating human characteristics and behaviour to technical systems. It is nowdays a vital step in the development of fail-safe systems and low probability of human error.

HFI is very common in Defence and Nuclear and other High-Hazard applications, and now Autonomics brings it to vehicle applications.
