We are a small, family-run business, with a passion for military vehicles. We pride ourselves on providing the same level of expert service, whether you're looking for a clutch change on your Jeep or a full overhaul of your Sherman. We will keep you informed of any developments during the work, keeping you in control of what we do. Both of our lead Mechanical Engineers are serving REME Reservists, transferring their modern skills to our everyday business.
We are also fully insured, covering both our work and your vehicle whilst on site, so you can trust that your vehicle will be in safe hands in our care. Military vehicles should be around for all to see and enjoy, now and tomorrow. Not only do we strive to restore your vehicle to how it left the factory, we can also help to keep it in a running and driving condition for daily enjoyment.
Full vehicle or component restoration, with fortnightly photographic reports provided as standard throughout the journey. We are able to service your vehicle at our workshop in Kent, or for your convenience, deploy to your location.

Services
After spending 8 years as a Mechanic at RR Motor Services, Gavin decided to take the plunge and branch out on his own, setting up Armoured Engineering Ltd in 2016.
Four and a half years later and after expanding into a larger premises in 2019, our restoration work is going from strength to strength, increasing our skillset, and with a busy calendar through to the end of 2021.
Having both Gavin and Paul as serving REME Reservists, we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and fully support their Reservist training requirements.

From a gearbox rebuild to a complete Sherman overhaul, we're here to help with all stages of your restoration journey.
We like to set the expectation from day one by completing a job card of requirements, which we'll use as the basis of your invoice.
Your restoration will be photographed in detail at every stage and you will be provided with a fortnightly update, both written and photographic via email.
This is our standard level of service.
With the majority of military vehicles no longer requiring an annual MOT, its important for you to feel safe in the knowledge that your pride and joy is mechanically safe and sound.

We have worked on numerous different projects over the years.
More photos and detail of the restoration journey of each can be found on our Facebook page.
This restoration earned us the MILWEB award at the War & Peace Revival 2017 for the "Most Outstanding Military Vehicle".
The finished vehicle can be seen on display at The Tank Museum, Bovington, where it's now their oldest, running tracked armour.
This is the only example of the Vickers Light MkIV in the world.
It has recently returned to us for Phase Two of the restoration, to add the finishing touches.
