Originally part of a construction company FC Sherman & Co (Ealing) Ltd built executive homes and installed central heating as a standard fixture. Receiving more and more enquiries from customers interested in having central heating installed in their homes it was eventually decided by Len and Fred Kelsey to set up a separate heating company. At the time, the central heating industry was originally promoted by the National Coal Board as a market for their fuel.
It was taken up by oil companies like Shell-Mex and BP to utilize the by-products of petrol, diesel and paraffin. We co-operated with these companies, starting on the ground floor, providing scaled down versions of commercial systems for domestic use.
