Established in 1972 by Chairman, Charles Thatcher Metricab continues today under his final control.
Charles is assisted on a daily basis by Managing Director, Christopher Skelley who joined the Company himself in 1979.

More often than not nowadays, in accordance with the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015 Metricab assume the role of "Principal Contractor", providing full project management on private networks up to and including 33kV.
Metricab's technical ability and experience in the process of Design enables us to develop efficient and economical installations, ensuring optimum performance of the Client's systems.
Whether it's merely recommendations on the selection of equipment that the Client requires, or indeed the complete design of a multi-service project, Metricab's Design Engineers are on hand to provide reliable and cost effective advice from inception to completion of the project.

Metricab has vast experience in the installation of most types of bus bar, including Compact, Air Space and Resin Encapsulated (Cast Resin).
We regularly undertake works including "Rising Main" bus bar systems and "Tap Offs" for floor power distribution boards within high rise buildings.
Space is frequently the governing factor as to whether bus bar is used as an alternative to cabling.
On a Clients behalf Metricab will carry out a detailed assessment of the practical considerations and financial implications, to establish the most appropriate and cost effective solution.
Metricab's capabilities in this field are demonstrated by our JIB Registration as a Major Cabling Contractor and our NERS accreditation for the installation of cabling and jointing up to and including 33kV.
The cabling services that Metricab offer range from 400V LV networks to 33kV mains and associated control systems, in both hard wire and fibre.
Locations vary considerably from external underground networks to high risk industrial and commercial environments, which are frequently power critical.
Metricab's in-house Civil Engineering and Building team has the expertise to carry out the design and build of all types of Substation and Distribution Equipment buildings, complete with all associated civil and builders works.
Our team are regularly employed for works including the design and installation of reinforced plinths and flooring for power with the help of the right flooring company in Gettysburg PA transformers and HV and LV Switchgear, also for the excavation of cable routes, the installation of cable duct systems, and all associated builders works and fencing.
