Ai Engineering Plastics & Laminates
Our range of Engineering Plastics and Laminates can be used in many applications in consideration of their specific characteristics and performance in certain conditions such as temperature, wear, stress loading, electrical requirements and other variables. Our range of products include a host of highly-developed materials such as Acetal, Nylon, PE1000, PEEK and PTFE.

Our range of products includes a host of highly-developed materials such as PTFE, SRBP, Nylon 6, and Acetal. Within the plastic family, Ertacetal (Acetal) is a common name given to a family of thermoplastics. Its chemical name is known to be: "PolyOxyMethylene", or POM. Ertacetal is usually available in two resins: Copolymer acetal (POM-C), and homopolymer acetal (POM-H); commonly called Delrin and Acetal.

At Ai Plastics, we offer both grades, in different sizes, cut to size. Nylon can be used as a replacement for bronze, aluminum, steel and other metals, especially in bearing and wear applications. As a grade, nylon offers excellent wear resistance, high tensile strength as well as a high heat distortion temperature.
Services
Since 1980, Ai have been supplying high quality Engineering Plastics and Laminates across the UK.
From our centres based in Glasgow, Manchester and Newport we can offer nationwide next day delivery from our comprehensive stocks.
At Ai, we have the ability to supply our products cut to our customers' exact requirements in sheets, rods and tubes, we can also supply custom cast stock shapes.
Alongside this we offer additional processing services such as sanding, planing, precision grinding, CNC routered shapes and fully machined parts.
We offer a full range of processing services to ensure our customers receive their material in the exact shape and condition required.
We have facilities that saw sheets from 0.5mm to 120mm thick and rods from 6mm to 520 mm in diameter.
The maximum length we can handle is 3m.
The entire range of plastics and laminates can be machined as per your specifications using our state-of-the-art in-house capabilities and partnership facilities.
We are able to produce bespoke machine items based on the drawings you send us.
Below you will find our extensive range of engineering plastic products, and industrial laminates.
All products are stocked in sheets, rods, or both.
We also offer a cut-to-size service in addition to other processing services, enabling you to receive your material in the exact shape, size and condition you require.
Epoxy 4W/EP is a general purpose FR-4 which has high strength, electrical performance and high dimensional stability over temperature.
POLYCARBONATE LEXAN EXELL D is a transparent polycarbonate sheet with proprietary UV protection on both sides, offering excellent weathering properties.
Below you will find our range of engineering plastic products available to order online.
All materials are stocked in sheets, rods, or both.
Choose the exact dimensions you require or contact us if you can't find what you're looking for.
PE1000 (UHMWPE) black rods are an excellent material for general-purpose use and have a unique combination of wear and corrosion resistance, low friction surface and impact strength.
PE1000 (UHMWPE) natural rods are an excellent material for general-purpose use and have a unique combination of wear and corrosion resistance, low friction surface and impact strength.
PEEK is an advanced engineering plastic with a unique combination of high mechanical properties, excellent chemical resistance and temperature resisitance, making it a hugely popular advanced engineering plastic.
The addition of carbon fibres, PTFE and graphite to virgin PEEK results in a PEEK "Bearing Grade".
This 30% glass fibre reinforced grade offers a higher stiffness and creep resistance and has a much better dimensional stability than unreinforced PEEK.
This 30% carbon fibre reinforced grade of PEEK combines even higher stiffness, mechanical strength and creep resistance than GF30 PEEK with an optimum wear resistance.
