SDA were appointed by Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust to design mechanical and electrical services for the new build teaching and workshop facility at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet. This project involved the complete refurbishment and reordering of the Civic Building, within Barnsley Town Centre. This 3.5 million enterprise centre was developed to encourage high technology developments to the Bolsover area.

The project included the refurbishment of two existing car dealerships in Chesterfield, in order to create new automotive workshops and teaching facilities for the College.
The project comprised the provision of new and modifications to the existing mechanical and electrical services to allow this new facility to function to meet the demands of the University.
This refurbishment required complex services within an old building and to ensure that external plant did not impact upon the surrounding environment and planning decisions.
