Services
Filton Systems Engineering (FSE) is a global engineering design firm specialising in delivering the highest quality engineering solutions for your fluid systems needs.
With capabilities extending throughout several industries, FSE provides the highest level of knowledge and expertise to successfully complete a variety of work packages.
Established by a number of experienced Fluid System Engineers with a range of specialised skills, the company has grown to support customers with a global footprint in a range of industries.
FSE has experience developing and managing system, sub-system and equipment level requirements to successfully deliver a range of complex commercial and military programmes.
FSE has experience assessing and developing fluid system performance and capability; optimising architectures to meet a balanced set of requirements including safety, maintainability, weight, cost and time.
Various generic and bespoke tools and analysis have been performed as appropriate to investigate, evaluate, simulate and optimise technical designs.
With extensive knowledge of aerospace environmental requirements set forth by specifications such as RTCA-DO-160 and MIL-STD-810, FSE provides the ability needed to fully develop and manage test programs to meet industry standards as well as interpreting and understanding resulting test data.
FSE is a leading expert in defining and understanding ice threats and electrostatics within the aerospace industry.
Specifically, FSE has defined the ice threat for the Trent XWB Engine and the Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) strategy for the A350XWB; both approved by the FAA / EASA.
The issue of ice accreting in pipework (system) and subsequently being released to the engine has been highlighted as a potential hazard within the aerospace industry.
Authorities require aircraft manufacturers to understand the mechanism and quantify the potential threat presented to the engine (and for engine manufacturers to show compliance with that threat).
Provided analysis and test management to define engine ice threat for Airbus A350XWB Fuel System.
Supporting assessment of any potential impact upon engine ice threat due to use of new fuel additive.
FSE helps customers achieve product certification by delivering documentation and supporting evidence in conjunction with direct consultation with the relevant authorities.
FSE personnel have been instrumental in defining and agreeing the certification strategy for many challenging FAA / EASA requirements facing modern aircraft.
