Services
At Certa, we have one of the most experienced in-house design and engineering teams in the business.
We use our skill, commitment and knowledge to create high precision parts that work.
Our core aim is to provide professional service and address all of your requirements.
As a practice, we are motivated by finding solutions to often tricky problems.
We are analytic and creative engineers and understand that our strengths lie in accommodating designs that others would not.
Gear cutting is any machining process for creating a gear.
The most common gear-cutting processes include hobbing, broaching, milling, and grinding.
Such cutting operations may occur either after or instead of forming processes such as forging, extruding, investment casting, or sand casting.
At Certa Engineering we are able to offer CNC gear cutting from drawings or via reversed engineering.
From the smallest one-off order to large quantities of gears or shafts, the combination of top quality machinery and experienced engineers means Certa are able to offer top quality gear cutting, using only the best materials, at the most competitive prices.
CNC milling is a computer numerical controlled machining process in which the operator programmes the milling movements into a CAD system or computer before the milling begins - similar to drilling and cutting.
Using a cylindrical cutting tool which can be moved along several axes to create a selection of holes, slots and shapes, CNC milling can achieve many of the operations that are performed by drilling and cutting machines but it differs from the single axis motion of a drill, in that the workpiece can move across the milling tool in different directions.
Electrical discharge machining (EDM), also known as spark machining, spark eroding, burning, die sinking, wire burning or wire erosion, is a manufacturing process whereby a desired shape is obtained by using electrical discharges (sparks).
Material is removed from the work piece by a series of rapidly recurring current discharges between two electrodes, separated by a dielectric liquid and subject to an electric voltage.
One of the electrodes is called the tool-electrode, or simply the "tool" or "electrode, " while the other is called the workpiece-electrode, or "work piece."
Wire cutting is a process that uses a brass wire and electric current to precision cut materials that are usually hard to process, for example stainless steel and titanium.
With our state-of-the-art wire-cutting equipment and skilled engineers we are able to produce items with extremely accurate detail and exact square corners.
Blanking tools, extrusion dies, jig and fixture components can all be made using this process.
We have the ability to cut tapered and straight profiles, along with cuts that have different shapes to the top and bottom of the piece.
