Services
Our structural and civil engineers provide a comprehensive range of professional services spanning beyond our main disciplines of civil, structural, geotechnical and environmental engineering.
These include project management, planning and architectural services, and the design and specification of building services and infrastructure.
While James Lockyer Associates have a great deal of experience of design, co-ordinating and managing construction projects from inception to completion, we also work closely with other construction professionals as part of co-ordinated design teams.
Whether we are taking the lead, or providing support to another practice, we can provide specialist civil and structural input alongside architects, surveyors, mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers and other professional firms.
We also routinely provide engineering advice, design, detailing and structural calculations to local architects and surveyors for smaller scale projects, such as the new boathouse at Looe.
We work closely with several estate and landowners and their agents, including the National Trust, the Duchy of Cornwall, the Ministry of Defence, Local Authorities, and the NHS.
Our services include establishing the condition of buildings, structures and infrastructure by inspections, investigations and appraisals, feasibility studies and environmental assessments, often in response to building damage, flooding and other incidents where dangerous structures may be involved.
We also plan, design, arrange and manage a wide range of projects including maintenance and improvement of sports facilities, accommodation, infrastructure, secure facilities and anti-terrorist protection.
We provide clear, concise and objective advice on the condition of buildings and structures, whether you are looking to buy or if you have concerns about your existing property.
If you are considering improvements, alterations or a new build, we provide planning, design and project management services from conception to completion, all in accordance with current Planning Standards and Building Regulations.
We work alongside developers at every stage of their projects, from engineering assistance with concept schemes for outline planning proposals, to detailed structural and building design, and specifying roads and pavings, drainage and other infrastructure for large-scale developments.
Those working in the insurance and legal professions benefit from our experience in the investigation, assessment and appraisal of damage and defects in building and structures, and can rely on us to provide objective and responsive expert advice and support to help resolve and reconcile problems, defects and disputes.
Where required we provide considered solutions to address damaged and defective buildings and structures.
This can involve rebuilding, or reinstatement and repair.
We have a good understanding and appreciation of the complex issues that can be involved including developing solutions in compliance with current Standards and Building Regulations, and the need for sympathetic and considerate approach to people in what can be distressing circumstances.
