Services
If there's a fault with your line it's only the responsibility of your service provider (eg BT, Sky, TalkTalk) as far as the master socket.
If this is of the current standard, and it may well not be, it should be possible to remove the lower portion of the faceplate to reveal the 'test socket'.
If the line works to this point but not when the faceplate is replaced then it's time to give us a call.
If not you can expect a bill of around 200 or more from BT or any of the other major service providers.

Your service provider assumes everybody has a current style master socket installed.
This is not necesarrily the case.
When you are trying to report a fault they will always ask you to go to your master socket and remove the front.
The socket shown top left is the first of the recent range of master sockets designed to enable the customer to perform a self diagnostic check on their line fault.
The two screws are the only ones that concern you, but be warned they are very short and easily lost.
Once removed the lower section can be withdrawn to reveal the 'test socket', as shown in picture bottom middle.

There are two main qualities we look for in our broadband connections.
Speed and stability.
Whilst slow download speeds cause much frustration an unstable connection needs to be avoided at all costs.
Many of the broadband problems we encounter are caused by poor or incorrectly connected internal wiring and sockets which result in low download speeds and regular loss of broadband connection.
Clearly there are other causes of broadband problems such as line faults, exchange faults and faulty routers.

In larger homes or premises there's probably areas where your wi-fi doesn't reach or if it does the signal strength is so low speeds are virtually unusable.
There's a variety of ways the problem can be overcome and we offer a range of solutions, some of which are simple DIY installations.
Failing that, we are happy to carry out a professional installation at reasonable costs.
If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well.
That's why our wi-fi kits are based around HP wireless access points - the choice of I.T. professionals worldwide.

Sadly, in this area, many of you bought from a dealer who's now in prison!
Then there's those of you who simply don't have any maintenance arrangements in place.
Fact is, if you're reading this you may well have a system that's on the blink and you need someone in to take a look - right now.
Panic over - speak to an engineer NOW on his mobile phone (see our homepage).
No fancy charges because we know you're in a pickle.
