Dh Solar Engineering
Daniel Holloway and Max Machin are the directors of dh Solar Engineering Ltd. We have been working in the renewable industry for over 16 years and are passionate about clean energy technologies. One of the many advantages of dealing with a small company is the personal service you will get from us. When you call us you will get us! We will put all our knowledge and enthusiasm into your design to make it suit your needs and those of our planet.

Hence each design is unique and bespoke. We believe that clean and locally produced energy is necessary for us to live in harmony with our planet and we will provide systems that enable people, communities and business to do this.
Services
We are a small independent company offering renewable heating technologies to both domestic and commercial customers.
We pride ourselves on our customer care and attention to detail.
We have recently found ourselves very busy and in need of extra staff to support us through this busy period and possibly beyond.
We are looking for a Self Employed, qualified Heating Engineer whom we can trust to work independently on site to complete installations and carry out maintenance and repairs.
You will need your own van and tools and be competent with roof work.
Solar thermal is arguably the most simple and efficient of all renewable technologies and we believe that in its simplicity lies its beauty.
Collectors on the roof heat up as the sun shines on them and a pump circulates fluid through the collector transmitting all the heat collected into a storage cylinder for it to be used as needed.
There are of course some essential details in the design that need to be right for a system to run well, with next to no maintenance.
This is something we have perfected over the years.
Biomass is a term used to describe natural fuels that are burnt to produce energy in the form of heat.
What makes them different from fossil fuels is that they are carbon zero.
Biomass takes carbon out of the atmosphere whilst it is growing then returns it as it is burnt.
If it is managed on a sustainable basis, biomass is harvested as part of a constantly replenished crop.
This is either during woodland management or coppicing as part of a continuous programme of replanting with the new growth.
The sun and the rain ensure that the ground temperature stays between 8C and 12C.
The Heat Pump enables us to transform this low temperature heat that is stored in the ground into usable heat for buildings.
By installing coils of pipe called 'ground arrays' in the ground and connecting them to a Heat Pump we can convert these low temperatures into usable heat for heating and hot water.
The principal is the same as with Ground Source Heat Pumps; the difference is that we are using the temperature in the outside air instead of the heat accumulated in the ground.
For every kW of electricity used by the Heat Pump, we can extract 2 to 3 kW of heat from the air.
Once this is done, there is a big plus to low-temperature heating systems.
Just a feeling of all round warmth, overcoming the hot spots, cold spots and dry air associated with conventional heating.
