Our team of Design Engineers have backgrounds ranging from heavy engineering like steel rolling & plate mill lines to lighter fabrication and sheet metal design to service the medical and food process industries. Due to the nature of many projects that Nova have been involved in, our engineers are often required to visit sites to perform site surveys and site measurements.
This has been extensively across the UK and into Europe. Nova are able to provide high quality 3D rendering and 3D animation services. Taking a simple 2D sketch or a 3D model, we use our Autodesk 3DS Max Design and VIS Mockup software to convert them into a high quality images or visualisations with photorealistic effects. Our modern CAD design and draughting office, based in the West Midlands, houses 40 seats of the latest in Computer Aided Design software.
Nova have invested in a Faro Focus3D X130 portable laser scanner allowing our engineers to combine high precision scanning technology with true mobility and ease of use.

In those early days, engineering design was still very much a manual industry and at its inception Nova consisted of 10 drawing boards, one typewriter, a card index for sales and a simple phone system along with Dave, Julia and a small team.
The total number of design engineers employed by Nova both internally and externally was around 15.
Early clients were mainly in the aerospace industry with turbine blade tooling projects comprising a large percentage of the internal project work together with projects in the construction industry based around curtain walling and cladding.
