Foretract Engineering is a well established specialist engineering business based in North Cumbria UK, operating its service worldwide. The business is run by an ex sea-going Marine Engineer and the company is a leading expert with in-situ broken stud removal on marine engines and gas turbines. Foretract have recently completed a project to thermal spray a hard coating onto a wearing surface of a 7m long roller.
This was carried out with a spray nozzle mounted on a purpose built hydraulically powered feed rail. A consistent spray pattern along the length of the roller was achieved by controlling longitudinal spray feed relative. The new workshop building is nearing completion with only the internal final fit out and cladding to the front elevation to complete.
Its going to be a big jump after working out of 2 shipping containers and having power from a diesel generator! New equipment developed by Foretract Engineering enables transport costs to vessels worldwide to be drastically reduced.

Foretract Engineering's In-situ machining service is aimed primarily at the marine customer.
In this role we have carried out refit machining operations during major drydockings of both Royal Navy surface ships and submarines, This type of work usually involves the design and production of special mounting equipment on which to mount the appropriate single point rotary cutting or milling machines.

In the Marine/Offshore industry our customers require the removal of broken or seized studs from a wide range of equipment without further damage to the threaded hole.
Foretract is very aware of the lost time costs incurred by ship/offshore installation operators.
For this reason our equipment is designed to be operated by our experienced technicians in a fast, accurate and safe manner.
Broken cylinder head studs removed from deep in the engine entablature on marine 4 and 2 stroke engines.
This is our most common service of which we have vast experience.
