Thank you and welcome to the website of Newcom Precision Engineers Ltd who are an ISO 9001:2015 registered company. We are a well-established CNC and Manual Machining company based in Cambridgeshire mainly serving the science and technology sectors for our local, national and international customers. We are based on the business park in Earith, which is approximately 10 miles northwest of Cambridge and within easy reach of the A14 and M11 national road network.

Newcom Precision Engineers were established in 1989 as a dedicated machining workshop where we have been producing precision-engineered components from the start. We are staffed by a team of dedicated skilled and technical engineers from the age of 64 down to 16! Our non-production staff are also well informed so that our customers are able to call upon a vast wealth of experience throughout the company.

This has enabled us to pride ourselves in quality, reliability and of course good customer relationships, which has meant that Newcom has been continuing to manufacture for some customers since we first started.
Services
Newcom have been manufacturing on the Earith Business Park since 1989, where we have grown from our humble beginnings of having just 4 staff and using one CNC mill and lathe in 2000 sq/ft of workshop, to presently employing 44 dedicated staff in our premises of 16,000 sq/ft.
Our workshop operates 24 hours a day, Monday until Thursday and closes at 4pm on Fridays.
We have 30 skilled machinists working on our day and night shifts with 5 working on the latter.
We also have 2 apprentices on EAL NVQs for mechanical engineering.
Here at Newcom we think that Quality and the name Newcom runs hand in hand as we believe our dedication, commitment and Quality are second to none in the precision engineering field of manufacture.
We are an ISO 9001:2015 accredited company.
We have a quality procedure manual for all of our services and also run a production control system with full certification if required for all of our supplied items.
As required by this standard we run an internal audit system for all of our procedures and follow up with any changes required to ensure that we are working to and surpassing the standard.
The skills of the staff in this section means that we are able to work on one off R&D prototypes with a rapid turnaround to the machining of small, medium or large batches of precision components in most ferrous and non-ferrous materials, as well as ceramics and plastics.
This section has been the backbone of Newcom from the start with the machines now achieving greater accuracies, having greater reliability and with a controlled maintenance program have minimum disruption to our production.
All of the machines are DNC linked so that programming can either be done at the machine or for the more difficult components offline on our CAD system, this has enabled us with specialist fixturing and tooling to produce near "5 axis" machining work at a fraction of the cost.
Our Turning section comprises of three Daewoo Puma C axis lathes, two with sub spindles, one Hyundai C axis lathe, one Hyundai HiT8, one Yang ML25, one Eagle 100 and one Yang Eagle 12.
All of the lathes are magazine fed with a bar capacity ranging from 5mm up to 76 mm diameter, with 300mm maximum diameter for chuck work.
With the introduction of the Puma's with C axis, the turning section can now produce complete machined items without having to pass these onto the milling section for the cross holes, flats etc.
Our Horizontal Multi Pallet Milling section comprises of two Niigata SPN50 Twin Pallet Machining Centres with 12000rpm, 40mtrs/min rapids and machining capacity of 800mm in X, Y & Z.
One Matsuura ES450 Five Pallet Machining Centre with 15000rpm, 40mtrs/min rapids and machining capacity of 350mm in X, Y, & Z.
One Daewoo HP400 Twin Pallet Machining Centre, 14000rpm, 40mtrs/min rapids and machining capacity of 700mm in X, Y & Z.
Two Kiwa PMH 40 CNC Twin Pallet Machining Centres, 10000rpm, 30mtrs/min rapids and machining capacity of 500mm in X, Y & Z.
