The application of scientific and mathematical principles to practical ends such as the design, manufacture, and operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes, and systems. Epiphany Engineering was started in 2010 with the intention of creating a fresh approach to engineering. We are Mechanical engineers, product designers, & Solidworks experts priding ourselves on being a no- nonsense establishment with innovation, design efficiency, adaptability & speed being our focus.

Rather than listing endless trendy buzz words, we prefer a simpler approach. As strong believers in the KISS principle, our approach is to reduce everything to it's most basic form & build from there. With over 100 years of combined diverse experience, we have what it takes to get the job done. Freedom, variety, challenge & intrigue. Everyday we get to help people solve their problems, & our team thrives under the challenges faced.

Difficulty brings intrigue, & creativity flows as a result. The more difficult a task is, the more creative/abstract solution is required!
Services
We are a design consultancy, so the majority of our work involves the design of components & assemblies for production.
The variety of work coming in constantly surprises us, with projects ranging from industrial process machinery, to product design, vehicles, architectural metalwork & much much more!
However big, & whatever your project may involve, Epiphany Engineering will get the job done.
Our clients generally come to us for help in the following areas, but since the design world has so many facets it's not unknown for us help out in other areas too.
Since our clients all operate projects destined for the physical world, everything we do here leads up to making things.
So in addition to the data collection & design services we also regularly take on manufacturing/assembly duties.
We do as much of the work in-house as possible, & outsourcing to our network of trusted suppliers when required.
Create a mechanical system that allowed the drove the aft deck rearwards by 400mm on a 4° incline, then rotate the after deck upward to clear the retractable bimini.
The complex shapes of the hull, deck, cockpit cover panels (stowed on underside of aft deck) provide to be a greater challenge than anticipated by Mulder design.
Several designers had attempted to solve the problem but none had provided a satisfactory solution.
To start off, we took put some time into investigating the previous attempts.
This project involved the conversion of two diesel double decker buses to a prototype full electric drive system for field test purposes.
The packaging of the batteries along with chassis reinforcement were our main responsibilities, but we ended up carrying out a lot of ancillary design tasks such as wheel arch liners, bracketry & belly pans, & devised a battery venting system which had to be both jet-wash proof from the outside, & prevent ingress of gases to the passenger compartment for 5 minutes (for thermal runaway event).
After receiving regular compliments & a number of offers to buy his freshly refurbished classic mountain bike, Simon Stanforth decided to investigate the possibility of making a small run of reproduction units to feed the growing market of 'retro' bikes.
The bike shops were interested enough to place orders, but all of the frame builders he approached would not quote without any 2D drawings or 3D models to interrogate.
This is where we came in.
We performed this work back in 2013, allowing Simon to take the bike into production & forming Stanforth Bikes around it.
