Belmar Engineering is one of the most advanced sub contract precision engineering workshops in the UK servicing the Oil and Gas industries in the North Sea and world-wide. An imaginative and on-going programme of reinvestment in computer based technology, machinery and tooling has meant that Belmar work at the very forefront of technology. At Belmar we have a duty to ensure that the products we provide to our clients embody the high standards of our company.
Services
Belmar Engineering was established in Aberdeen in 1975 to support the emerging North Sea Oil & Gas Industry and offered a fast and personal response in steel fabrication and basic machining.
The company has expanded over the last four decades to meet the growing demands of the industry and is considered one of the most advanced engineering facilities in Scotland.
All products are manufactured to the very highest degree of accuracy and the company is proud of its policy of delivering high quality products in the required timeframes.

Our turning section consists of one Vertical Turning Lathe, Four Long Bed Lathes, two Slant Bed lathes and three manual lathes.
The wide range of lathes allows us to turn jobs from the smallest intricate part to large diameter parts up to 68" in diameter to shafts up to 230" in length all to the same degree of accuracy.

Our milling section consists of thirteen Giddings & Lewis PC horizontal boring and milling machines, all installed within the last ten years, three Alesa Monti MCS 100 CNC Horizontal Borers installed between 2011 and 2013 and a MTE BF2200CNC Bed Mill installed in 2007.
The horizontal borer is production centre for heavy milling, precision boring, drilling, tapping and two or three axis countouring.
All thirteen machines have use of either CH8, CH16 or CH26 Davis contouring heads for contour boring and turning profiles, grooving and screwcutting.

The Company's welding capability includes four fully automated weld cladding stations which were relocated in a purpose built workshop in 2013.
During relocation, three of the the cladding rigs were upgraded to full CNC control, while the fourth which incorporates the latest Twin Arc, Rotary Head, Hot Wire GTAW System was purchased and installed from new.
The rotary head system eliminates the need for precise setting-up of components on welding turntables thus saving valuable set-up time.
This welding process is supported by an extensive range of Weld Procedure Specifications which include performing weld overlays with requisite Parent Metal, Stainless Steel or Inconel consumables.

An extensive support system manned day and night by a highly skilled workforce with many years of experience in all types of engineering is readily at hand to help with any problems which may occur.
The engineers in the Production Engineering Department receive customer orders and documentation from which they decide upon the most cost effective method of manufacture for the part.
They then go on to prepare routing, part programs and in-house drawings to guide charge hands and operators for the smooth operation from raw material to quality component.
