LeBus International was established in the U.K. in 1962, over this period we have gathered a wealth of experience in our prime activity of solving the problems of Multi-Layer Spooling of Wire Ropes and Cables. The name of 'LeBus' is now internationally known for the special method of grooving applied to Winch Drums of all types and sizes. In addition to Spooling Products, LeBus have for many years specialised in the design and manufacture of custom built Marine Research Winches.
Successfully developed to overcome the spooling problems in the arduous oilfield drilling industry, the LeBus system is now well proven throughout the Crane and Hoisting Industry. From mining to marine, industrial to construction, with wires or cables ranging from 1mm to 100mm dia. Drums from 100mm to 5m dia., LeBus Grooving has been applied to spool anything from 2 to 50 layers.

The LeBus system is a method of controlling the spooling of wire rope on a winch drum so that there is no practical limit to the number of layers that can be spooled with safety, irrespective of the severity of load and speed conditions or the sizes of rope and drum.

The LeBus System can be applied in various ways.
By the installation of a Split Sleeve onto a Plain Drum, by the use of a Grooved Barrel to which the client adds Flanges or by the supply of a complete Fabricated and Machined Drum to project requirements.
