Services
The Practice was founded in 1972 by Frank W. Haywood who originally started his career in 1963 at GKN Reinforcements.
He developed his knowledge as part of Redditch Development Corporation before a spending a short time at Phillips Consulting in Northampton.
He then set up his own Practice from home but quickly moved into offices in Coventry where the company is still based.
Frank quickly found his vocation which was the repair of historic structures and was appointed as Engineer to Birmingham Cathedral in 1976.
He developed his knowledge as part of Redditch Development Corporation before a spending a short time at Phillips Consulting in Northampton.
He then set up his own Practice from home but quickly moved into offices in Coventry where the company is still based.

Built in 1715, St. Phillips is a fine example of English Baroque architecture.
We have been engineers to the cathedral since 1976 and during the last 40 years have overseen the installation of the Song School, structural repairs to the parapets, repair of the dome and cupola and also the major re-ordering of the churchyard.
The Cathedral dates to 1123 with significant sections rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries.
We have been engineers to the cathedral since 1994 and have continued the long term monitoring of the cathedral.

We are currently looking to expand our team with 3 positions available to for the right individuals looking for a long term position.
We have an immediate requirement for a Chartered or very near chartered Senior Structural Engineer who is capable of working under their own initiative, running projects from concept to completion.
They will be expected to liaise with clients and architects, be self-motivated, comfortable working on their own producing design packages including drawings or working with and mentoring a junior technician / draughtsman.
