Newmont Engineering was founded in the 1950s by Charles Newson and is still independently owned by the Newson family.
During the sixties Newmont's manufacturing focus was on precision gears and in the seventies we won a prestigious contract to make a missile stabilisation platform for Dassault Aviation.
We have over the years expanded our range of production into leadscrews for the medical Industry and crown splines for commercial aircraft, including parts for the historic transatlantic airliner, Concorde and the current Airbus A380 and Boeing 787.
We specialise in crown splines for aerospace applications, fine pitch gears for instrumentation and non-involute forms whilst our comprehensive range of gear cutting machines allows us to produce spur gears, involute splines, serrations and worm & wheel gear sets.

Newmont have CNC shaping and hobbing machines and the ability to produce gear and pulley parts on CNC sliding head machines.
We have 22 gear cutting machines supported by a wealth of tooling including cutters, broaches, gauges and master gears.
Our Milling machines enable the manufacture of instrument gear boxes, motor plates, cover plates and housings.
Our most challenging work is multi axis work on universal joints, yokes and splined couplings.
Many of the components that Newmont make are part of an actuation mechanism.
Milled features are often accurately timed to spline or gear teeth.
Newmont has the expertise to measure the geometric and positional parameters between milled features and gears or splines.
The production of prismatic components is supported by three coordinate measuring machines (CMM) in our inspection department.
Newmont can provide sub-assemblies to your specification, drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
In the early stages of product development Newmont can work with your design engineers to achieve a successful solution to your assembled mechanisms i.e. instrument gear boxes, electro-mechanical stabilisation platforms and gear assemblies.

In our Turning section Newmont produce couplings, splined shafts, yokes, cross shafts, hubs, reaction plates, leadscrews, quill shafts, brake plates, spur and bevel gear blanks.

Our HAAS TL-25 SE is ideal for this; it has a twin-spindle configuration and ample power.
