Williams Aerospace Engineering has been at the cutting edge of engineering since 1960. We manufacture precision machined components for the most discerning customers for use in the most extreme environments. We are proud to supply the Aerospace, Nuclear, Medical, Formula 1 & Performance Sports Car, and Commercial markets. We specialise in Gear Cutting, CNC milling, CNC turning, Grinding, Flat & Cylindrical Lapping and Honing.
Our work is carried out to the most exacting tolerances. We maintain the highest standards through rigorous quality control testing conforming to BS EN ISO 9001 & AS9100 requirements. To take a single example - types of gear cutting undertaken include Spur and Helical Gears, Worms and Worm Wheels, Involute Splines, Chain Sprockets, Timing Belt Pulleys, Internal Gears, and Straight Sided Serrations.
Under the title "Saintly subby invests to face future challenges" we were recently featured in an article on. All our work is carried out to the highest standards. Our in-house quality control facilities include the latest equpiment to ensure every job leaves the workshop exactly as it has been specced.

CNC Honing is the final stage to take place on the internal diameters of machined components and involves the very fine finishing of surfaces.
We specialise in Match Grinding, a number of our customers require bores with very fine surface finishes.
In Honing together with Solid Lapping we can achieve Surface Finishes down to 0.5 Micro-inch (0.013 Micron).
This is extremely important for the Valves Match Ground in the Hydraulics Aerospace Industry.
Williams Engineering have many years of experience in honing to very exacting tolerances.

Williams Engineering offer comprehensive Precision Lapping services for Flat Lapping and Polishing applications from our premises in Southampton.
For Cylindrical Lapping of Bores we can Lap sealing faces down to 0.5 Micro-inch (0.013 Micron) This is extremely important for the sealing of faces where there is metal-to-metal contact - for example for hydraulic components in the Aerospace and Automotive industries.
We cater for a huge range of different material types and produce any required surface finish and flatness by using Lapping, Polishing Plates and Pads, Slurries, Suspensions and Compounds.
