DRN Engineering are a leading UK manufacturer of precision CNC turned parts and machined components for a wide range of industry sectors. We are proficient in turning and milling precision components, using CNC machines in a modern facility, situated close to excellent transport links for the UK including road and train and where applicable by sea or air for our European, our American and our far Eastern customers.
Our well equipped factory boasts turning and milling machines, that are fitted with equipment at the cutting edge of machining technology. This includes sliding head and twin lathes together, with sub-spindle and driven tooling, all fed by magazine bar loading capability. We particularly specialise in the CNC machining of stainless steels including 303, 304, 316 and 416 as well as a wide variety of other other materials such as aluminium, brass, mild steel and most plastics/nylons.
Our customers base consists of many different industries, including medical equipment, air tools, breathing apparatus, food processing, optical equipment and fire suppression and detection equipment to name but a few.

The company was registered in 1982 by Don Newport, the company expanded very quickly from the beginning and we now employ 21 people, many of which have served with us for over ten years.
Since opening in 1982 DRN has specialised in the manufacture of components up to 65mm in diameter, this includes turning, milling, drilling, tapping, heat treatment and plating.
Our customers are manufacturers of technical instruments requiring reliable quality and delivery and at a competitive cost.
In 1997 we moved to our new factory which then gave us the floor area to expand the number of CNC lathes and Vertical Machining Centres, which today total eighteen machine tools, we have always re-invested in new plant on a regular basis.

A typical small batch size for DRN is 100 and is often the product of a 3 metre bar.
Production quantities are not a problem as we have magazine bar loading capabilities, a typical production run could be 5,000 for example.
We are predominantly a Turning company with 14 turning machines capable of milling, drilling & tapping in one operation.
We also have four Vertical Machining Centres which are used mostly for second operation milling, drilling & tapping on our Turned Parts.

We often manufacture quantities from 50 upwards although we will manufacture smaller batches under the following circumstances.
We are prepared to supply in quantities as low as 10 off if the requirement is part of an annual call off where the setting up cost can be amortised over the total batch and order cover is given for the complete batch.
We do not normally find that we manufacture in quantities above those shown because CNC machine tools are not cost effective in this range.
