Ridgeway Surveys
Ridgeway Surveys Ltd is a multi-disciplinary surveying practice that prides itself on providing a professional and cost-effective service to our clients. Working with main contractors, architects and engineers across all sectors, we specialise in surveys used at planning, pre-construction and construction stages on projects of all sizes.

Our surveys aid and inform architectural design, engineering design and construction services and are trusted to be used on some of the largest and most prestigious projects in the country.
Services
Initially focusing on providing engineering surveying services to clients on central London construction projects, Ridgeway Surveys' reputation as professional and dependable surveyors grew rapidly, leading to a demand for their services on projects both small and large across the country.
Successful growth of the business by Paul and Pete ensured that this demand from clients was met and the surveying services offered were expanded to included topographic surveys, utility surveys and measured building surveys.
In order to minimise dimensional errors on site, engineering surveyors establish rigorous site control networks.
These take the form of grid lines, datums and control points precisely and accurately marked out on site.
These are relied upon by contractors to position concrete, steelwork, curtain walling, glazing, MEP systems, etc. and ensure that structural engineers' and architects' designs are accurately transferred to the real world.
Ridgeway Surveys have invested heavily in training, research and technology to ensure that only the best equipment is being used for each project.
A topographic survey produces a detailed scaled plan identifying both the natural and man-made features within an area of interest.
The existing detail of an area may be required for either record or planning purposes and a thorough survey reduces the possibility of making costly mistakes at a later stage if unforeseen problems are uncovered.
Ridgeway Surveys make use of the latest state-of-the-art surveying equipment (including robotic total stations, GPS, laser scanning and drones) to capture your site.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a data-rich process that allows architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals to more easily collaborate at all stages of a building's lifecycle.
A Building Information Model is an intelligent 3D digital description of a building and allows for more efficient design, planning, construction and management of a building and its infrastructure.
Ridgeway Surveys use laser scanners to rapidly capture millions of 3D measurements on a building.
A measured building survey (typically a combination of floor plans, elevations and sections) allows the production of scaled drawings, giving an accurate representation of the structural and architectural features of a building.
Measurements carried out by the surveyor on site are processed in the office into floor plan drawings.
These can be simple plans used for calculating areas to highly detailed plans showing heritage features or structural details.
Floor plans drawings can be supplemented with roof plans, elevation drawings of the building facades and cross-sectional drawings through the building to give a comprehensive picture of the structural make-up of a building.
