Providing design capability for overhead lines, cables and substation installations to the UK electricity distribution industry, for all voltages up to and including 400kV.

Our engineers and designers are completely conversant with the operation of electricity distribution networks with their background and detailed knowledge of cabling, overhead lines & plant installations. We can provide a complete design and project management package from inception to completion, throughout all voltage ranges. We are committed to assist clients in their goal to cut carbon emission to net zero by 2050.

It demonstrates our long-term environmental vision for us to be carbon neutral providing the urgent actions we all need to take to help you achieve this goal. Design, installation and maintenance of overhead power lines. Our experienced engineers can undertake all aspects of work involving high voltage overhead power lines from basic designs and feasibility studies through to full project management of major schemes.
Services
EDES is an established company inspired by three former United Utilities/Norweb electrical engineers, providing high voltage engineering services to the major projects sector of the electricity distribution industry.
We carry out work from preliminary conception through design, planning and construction phases of a wide range of schemes.
The extensive range of high voltage engineering services has included detailed electrical and civil design, full project management, S.A.P duties on projects from minor diversions to multi million pound refurbishment / construction schemes.
The three directors, Mark Radcliffe, Gary Teasdale and Dave Crook all started their careers with Norweb.
They have worked as Senior Authorised Transmission Engineers involved in all aspects of work, specialising in 33kV & 132kV circuits' activities.
Cumulatively Mark, Gary and Dave have over 100 years experience within the electricity distribution industry, concentrated mainly within the transmission section.
The team understands the need to plan schemes efficiently and effectively in order to maintain emergency return to services times, along with keeping consequential customer interruptions to a minimum.
EDES are a fast-growing electrical and civil engineering design consultancy company, providing specialist overhead line, cabling and installation services to the UK electricity distribution industry, at all voltage levels up to and including 400kV.
Our particular expertise is based on electrical engineers who are completely conversant with the operation of electricity distribution networks.
When combined with detailed knowledge of cabling, overhead lines and plant, we can provide a complete design and project management service for all stages of projects within the electricity distribution industry, from inception to completion.
Our experienced engineers can undertake all aspects of work involving high voltage overhead power lines from basic designs and feasibility studies through to full project management of major schemes.
EDES have many years experience working with high voltage overhead power lines involving both steel tower and wood pole systems.
With their knowledge and background within the industry as senior authorised persons, our engineers have the advantage of understanding the operational aspect of HV & EHV systems.
Providing HV cable installation and design services across the UK.
Our cable engineers can undertake all aspects of cable installation and route design, from early planning and investigation to cable pulling calculations and project management of cable laying activities.
Previous installation projects range from small fault repairs to a full HV cable replacement route, across varying installations through inner city, urban and rural landscapes, incorporating a wide range of 'Areas of Engineering Difficulty' (AED's).
